The Baby has arrived.

babyfeet.jpg

Our baby was born on December 5th 2007 @ 9:08am.

His name is Scott. He arrived slightly earlier than what we anticipated. His original due date was December 26th. We kinda knew he would be here before then, but not that early.

We just had a baby shower on Saturday December 1st. My wife’s co-workers had a baby shower for her on December 4th. Thanks everyone for the wonderful gifts.

Here’s a short recap of what happened last night/this morning:

2:45am - Wife woke me up complaining about belly pains. Basically contractions, but this time it was more painful and last much longer. I was still half asleep at this point.

2:55am - Wife went to pee and saw lots of blood. She screamed, I woke up completely.

3:00am - Called the doctor who was on-call. He instructed us to just monitor it.

3:15am - Wife was standing there and then all of sudden, her water broke. Messy stuff came out of her and onto the floor. Used two paper towel rolls to get it under control.

3:20am - Called doctor again, he instructed us to head to the hospital. Wife continues to soak our floor.

3:30am - Packed all things we need for the hospital.

4:00am - Started to drive to NYU hospital.

4:25am - Arrived at the labor department.

4:45am - Wife was immediately admitted to active labor room.

5:00am to 7:40am - Wife waited to be fully ready to deliver.

7:45am - Wife is ready to push.

7:45am to 9:00am - Wife really really pushed. I was there for EVERYTHING. She did a great job and I think I did too.

9:08am - Scott’s head peak outta wife’s private. Then a few seconds later he was OUT. Amazing sight. He cried a little bit and then was fine.

The room was a bloody mess afterwards, but everyone was fine. Wife was tired, but fine. Baby’s health was great.

It’s was a proud moment for my wife and I.

It’s almost 24 hours since last night with no sleep. I’ll end it right here for now. Good night.

I was very much in the moment. Not disgusting at all. I was VERY involved. I should do another post about being in the delivery room.

I didnt have much time to think, so it was great.
