I missed the doctors visit when my wife heard our sons heartbeat for the first time. I really wanted to go with her to hear his heartbeat, but was out of town for work that day. My wife knew I wanted to be there so she bought just the listening device. All I could hear was a bunch of gurgling and bubbles. The instructions say that the farther along in the pregnancy the better your chances are of hearing the baby's heartbeat. I listened all the way up until the last week of her pregnancy and all I heard was a bunch of gurgling bubbles. Waste of money. I agree.
