Listen to your unborn baby!

deluxe prenatal gift set

In a earlier post I wrote about Belly Talk, which involves a person talking to the unborn child in the belly. Yesterday, while looking for more items for our baby registry I saw a gift set from BebeSounds called Deluxe Prenatal Gift Set. In the gift set, there are devices that can help you hear the baby, talk to the baby, record the baby’s sounds, and play music for the unborn baby.

I went on Amazon to check on the reviews. This thing is garbage. Most of the time the only sounds people heard were their own gassy stomachs. If you want to play music for your belly, use a Ipod or Cd player and attach an old-school over the head headphone to your belly. Cool marketing, bad product. Don’t buy it as a gift for someone unless you want to give them junk.

Wise Man Tip: To save money, use this on the belly instead:

I agree. I missed the doctors visit when my wife heard our sons heartbeat for the first time. I really wanted to go with her to hear his heartbeat, but was out of town for work that day. My wife knew I wanted to be there so she bought just the listening device. All I could hear was a bunch of gurgling and bubbles. The instructions say that the farther along in the pregnancy the better your chances are of hearing the baby’s heartbeat. I listened all the way up until the last week of her pregnancy and all I heard was a bunch of gurgling bubbles. Waste of money.

It’s such a ripoff. Return it.

I like your alternative method! I’ll ask my husband to try! :)
