Belly Talk
Starting around the early 20 something week of pregnancy, my wife started talking to her belly out loud. She wasn’t going nuts, but who knows for sure. She was speaking to our baby. She claims the baby can hear spoken language at that development stage.
Upon some googling, I found out that millions of other pregnant American women speak to their bellies regularly. Some couples even play classical music for the belly to jump start their child’s development.
For whatever reason, it’s mostly a national phenomenon. Women in other countries do not speak to their bellies. They start speaking to the baby only after the baby is out of the belly. That would explain why we are the wealthiest and most powerful nation in the world. We have a few months head start. Now stop reading and go talk to the belly.
Wise Man Tip: To better communicate with your unborn child, plug a microphone in the belly button and speak slowly.

Maybe if we played punk music instead of classical, our kids would gravitate to classical as they get older just to be a little “alternative?”

Right, what you are saying is not true. Other countries?
Let me tell you.
My dad is Italian, I was born in there and lived for few years - in Italy they do speak to the bump since about 20th week.
My mom is Polish, so we moved to Poland and I lived there few years as well. Guess what? They talk to belly as well!!! Everyone there knows it helps baby to recognise parents by their voice afer labour.
Another country - Greece. My boyfriend is from Greece. He remember his mom being pregnant with his younger sister, and WOW AMAZING, she was talking to baby inside her!
Oh, and last that I know for sure - we also talk to bumps in UK (England), as midwifes, doctors and everyone keep on reminding that it is helpful for the baby, so I am talking to my little one inside me now as well.
Head start only in US?
