Circumcision is a family choice. Many people choose to circumcise to either because of tradition, religion or to try to avoid hygienic problems. Due to a long line of problems with uncircumcised men in our family, I am choosing to circumcise my son when he is born. I just couldn’t live with myself if I didn’t circumcise him and he started to experience the same problems.

Men do not need the added burden of cleansing their penises. This is especially true in emergency wartime situations if a man is needed to defend. If cleansing an uncircumcised penis is truly what people describe, this is exactly why men never want to serve with a woman in dirty, uncomfortable combat situations. Keep things easy, practical, and simple — circumcise! Do it when they’re young and they won’t remember a thing

The decision of circumcision should be left for parents to do what they think is best for their son. I had the surgery in my mid thirties after trading yeast infections back and forth with my wife for 6 years. After the surgery, the infections stopped and the sensation did not change. Everything continued to work fine. There is way too much emotion and over the top words such as mutilation, slicing, ripping, etc. The foreskin is not the most erogenous part. It seems that there are way too many experts on circumcision. Most men are fine either way. It really isn’t any of my business or yours what other people do regarding circumcision. People need to get off their opinion pedestal and move on.

Nick, essentially what you are saying is that you are at cross roads and contemplating whether or not you should have your 13 month old child be placed under anethesia and have his little penis operated on for no other reason other than you may be uncomfortable with the conversation of why your penises look different? I hope you truly know the answer to the cross road direction you should take.

What is wrong with the truth pertaining to circumsion? Perhaps the difficulty that you may have answering questions could be an issue within you and it is likely that your son will not have too many questions that the simple truth could not clear right up. Circumsized men seem to make a much bigger deal about this than it needs to be! Relax, you seem like a pretty smart guy, so let nature handle itself. You will know what to say when the time is appropriate, just like you probably will know what to say about drugs, sex, and other uncomfortable topics. And lastly, give your son more credit…. he does not know that people make a big deal about the differences, so don’t teach him that it is a big deal..chances are all will be well!

Our son was circumcised at one day, based entirely on societal concerns. I read stacks of literature on the topic beforehand. There is a scientifically significant difference in the rate of infections/STDs between circumcised and uncircumcised men, but teaching your son to (a) maintain his personal hygiene and (b) not sleep around should take care of that (I’m a bit old fashioned with point b). Now at 13 months, our pediatrician told us that the circumcision was minor, at best. In other words, very little tissue was removed. We consulted with a pediatric urologist to determine what would be involved with re-doing it, and the procedure is significant (involving general anesthesia, stitches, and splinting).
We have heard no compelling reasons to have him “re”-circumcised. The “It looks gross” argument is ridiculous. I hope my son’s self confidence is sufficient to overcome that, though I understand there may be occasional struggles (but all young men deal with penis issues). The health argument is relatively unsubstantiated. Taking care of oneself should solve that problem.
My only stumbling block is that I, as well as every man in my family (that I know of), am circumcized. I honestly don’t know if I’ve ever seen an uncircumcized man in my life. Those of you who are cut and decided not to cut your sons, have you dealt with any “Why am I different?” conversations with your sons, and how did you handle it? Thanks for your guidance.

“We had our son circumcised. Our decision was based entirely on how it looked. There are pros and cons to both, but neither outweighed the other in our opinions. I am cut (I bet you wanted to know that!) and my wife thinks they look gross uncut…so our son got cut. Simple as that. ;)”
Lets forget for one moment that you actually get your son mutilated - Theres plenty of so called Reasons why someone “decides” to get his son cut ( medical, religion etc..)
But you both are realy dumb fucks - you decide just because your wife think they look gross???!! Holy god! THATS GROSS!! YOUR ARE GROSS!! Dont get me wrong: get the one Chield circumcised is always wrong! But if you had say you think its more healthy - we just could think you are badly informed. But so - i have to say your just plain dumb!
Even the spelling “our decision” “my decision” That proofs that the Human needs ethic and moral leadership. Let him have to much power over someone else and he spoils it all!!
If USA say : you are free to let remove the little finger on one hand of your Sons - there would be a few or more stupid DarwinismErrors who let ths do.
