Choose Your Baby’s Gender

Technology has come a long way. A few decades ago, we didn’t find out the sex of our babies until they were born. Now we’re able to find out the sex by the 16th week. And latest technology allows you to choose the gender of your baby even before conception.
If you really want a boy or a girl and have $20,000 to spare, you can have the gender of your choice. It’s 100 percent accurate. I don’t know about the morals of this issue. Anyhow, it’s already be done in the US. And from what I read it’s becoming more popular.
The way the procedure works is that a couple’s embryos is screened to only allow a certain gender to develop into a baby. Which sounds like they are aborting the unwanted embryos. That’s kinda sad to me.
It’s probably only a matter time before we can start choosing the eyes, hair and other traits for our baby. These technological developments have been amazing. But are we playing God too much? The moral debate will certainly heat up.

I say it really goes too far. We just need to leave things be.

We used the Shettles method (doin it at certain time during ovulation) for getting our girl and it worked but really to say the least, I am sure it is really just chance when it comes down to it. Any other method, anything invasive especially I think would be pushing it.

I think that its great that we can find out if its a boy or a girl but i don’t like how you can choose it to be a boy or a girl i think it should be what it was going to be. Like if a boy becomes like 20 and finds out that it could of been a girl that would be very sad for me.

I think that is completely horrible!…they are definetly pushing it by letting you choose your childs gender. It is so unnatural in so many ways.

I personally don’t agree to choosing baby gender but again it’s a personal choice. I beg to differ, there’s no such thing as 100% accuracy. If you decide to choose the gender, you have to take the risk when the sex turns up to be not what you want.

Wouldnt there be any chances of it complicating your pregnancy though?…I cant imagine it would be to healthy

FYI: Dr. Jamie Grifo, director of reproductive endocrinology at New York University Medical School, has been using another technique to pick the gender of an embryo. He said the school only uses its procedure to prevent diseases that are passed along in genes to only one sex, such as hemophilia in males.
